What is a WETT Inspection™?

A WETT inspection is an evaluation of a wood-burning appliance or system by a certified professional. It assesses whether your system meets applicable codes, safety standards, and manufacturer requirements.

When do you need an inspection?

Most people call for one of four reasons:

• Your insurance company requires it for a home insurance policy.
• You're buying or selling a home
• There's a problem with the system (smoke spillage, rapid creosote buildup).
• You simply want to know the system is safe.

What level of inspection does Lindbjerg Chimney provide?

Lindbjerg Chimney is certified for WETT Level 1: Visual Inspection. This covers everything that's visible and accessible without removing panels or using specialized tools. It's the level required for the vast majority of insurance and real estate needs.

One thing worth clarifying: appliances and companies cannot be "WETT certified." Only individual inspectors are certified. What you receive is an official inspection report, not a certificate.

What do you receive after the inspection?

A detailed report on an official WETT inspection form. It documents the appliance type, clearances, markings, and any compliance issues found. Only what was visible and accessible at the time of inspection can be included.
